Custom eBook Template Design: Printing 101
There once was a time when printing was an art that was studied and mastered over many years and then passed on to the next generation. In this modern age, there are still a few people out there who take the time and make the effort to study and master modern digital printing. Ron Martinsen is one of those people and I recently had the opportunity to work with him on a custom ebook template for his upcoming eBook Printing 101.
I really enjoyed working with Ron and loved the concept and idea he came to me with. He wanted an eBook template that would look like an old print masters book of secrets and would be something that you would want to pick up and touch when you saw it.
I sent Ron about ten different iterations and options for the front cover and in the end, we ended up using a slightly edited beautiful texture from Trey Ratcliff ‘s Texture Pack as a background for the embossed styled cover. We both felt it turned out really well and were both very pleased with it.
After the cover was finalized we set to work on the inside pages and came up with a final design that compliments the cover nicely and includes 7 different heading styles as well as Table Of Contents, chapter, title and table stylization.
I really enjoyed working with Ron on this project and also really enjoyed coming up with an refining the ideas for this book which I feel like ended up looking beautiful and unique.
